Fantastic Law Office looking for a Fantastic Paralegal|Legal Assistant, with a great attitude and a bubbly personality to run the front of the house, assist all attorneys with their office needs and maintain the office clean and up right. This is a Full-Time 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday positions in the heart of Peekskill, NY.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Experience in drafting legal documents. (This can include drafting correspondence and pleadings, such as complaints, subpoenas, interrogatories, deposition notices, pretrial orders. NOT NECESSARY BUT A DEFINITE PLUS.
1-3 years of legal secretarial experience; or Administrative
Associate’s degree or 2 years of college in a related field and 1 year of legal secretarial experience/ Administrative; or
An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Mac Computer Experience

Required Skills:
Bilingual Spanish
Customer Service Experience
Communication Skills Experience
Type 30 to 35 WPM.
Great Attitude

Description of Responsibilities:

Copy, Scan, Fax, Answer Phones, Take Messages Etc.

Preparing for Trials, Hearings, and Depositions.

Administrative tasks such as filing papers, answering telephone calls, an maintaining and organizing reference files.

Maintaining the schedule of their attorney, and spend some time of each day calling clients, lawyers, witnesses, experts and court personnel to schedule interviews, hearings, meetings, depositions, and trials. Paralegals may also handle any needed travel arrangements.

Maintaining calendar by scheduling all meetings, consultations, depositions, Examination Under Oath’s, recorded Statements, Hearings, Mediations and client meetings Etc. for all attorneys.

Receive, open and distribute all files. Provide file number and all correspondence as needed (Welcome letter, Letter of Representation, etc.)

Receive and manage all current and new clientele request as such (Case updates, request of documents & handling all needs as requested or as needed).

Receive process & distribute all releases with settlement checks and or deposit into company account.

Maintain all client files electronically and physical. Prepare for attorney before any appearance.

Preparation: of case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review.

Organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed.
